What is SKINVIVE™?
You won’t find anything else like SKINVIVE™ on the market. It’s the first FDA-approved microdroplet injectable with hyaluronic acid (HA) in the US specifically designed to smooth out your cheeks. How Does It Work?
SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® is a smooth hyaluronic acid (HA) gel infused with a small amount of lidocaine. While some injectables primarily aim to enhance and add volume to facial features, SKINVIVE™ takes a different approach by focusing on increasing skin hydration specifically in the cheeks.

What Is a Treatment Like?

Who Shouldn’t Use It?
If you relate to any of the following, we don’t recommend SKINVIVE™ to you:
- You have a history of severe allergies that led to anaphylaxis
- You’re known to have multiple severe allergies
- You’re allergic to lidocaine
Preparing For Your Treatment
Your safety and satisfaction is our top priority, and the best way to be safe and happy with your results is to be fully prepared. Here are our tips for preparing for your SKINVIVE™ injections:
- Before your appointment, be sure to let us know if you’re taking any blood-thinning medications like aspirin or ibuprofen as they could increase the risk of bruising or bleeding at the treatment site.
- If you’re planning any other procedures like a laser treatment or chemical peel shortly after your SKINVIVE™ session, let us know.
- Be sure to mention to us ahead of time if you have a history of thick, hard scars or pigmentation disorders.
- Please let us know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Aftercare, Risks & Side Effects
There’s no big downtime to plan following your SKINVIVE™ treatment. We just recommend taking it easy for the first 24 hours to give your skin the time it needs to soak in all the goodness of the product. This means skipping the gym for a day, avoiding sun exposure as much as possible while wearing sun protection, and steering clear of alcohol.
While SKINVIVE™ is generally safe and effective, like with any dermal filler, there are some risks to be aware of. Rarely, there’s a possibility of injecting into a blood vessel, which could result in vision abnormalities, blindness, stroke, temporary scabs, or permanent scarring of the skin. Our highly experienced injectors at Simply.Aesthetics prioritize safety and precision during every treatment.
We advise against using SKINVIVE™ in areas with active skin conditions such as acne, cysts, or rashes, as doing so could potentially worsen these issues or delay their healing process.
Possible side effects of SKINVIVE™ injections may include:
- Temporary redness
- Lumps
- Tenderness
- Bruising and swelling
- Discomfort
- Firmness
- Discoloration
- Itchiness at the injection site
Most of these effects typically resolve within 7 days and can be managed with medications if necessary.
Other less common side effects may include dry skin, changes in sensation, blood vessel blockage, the formation of nodules, allergic reactions, or feelings of anxiety. If you experience any concerns or unusual symptoms, be sure to reach out to us as soon as possible.
