What is a Treatment Like?

The treatment typically takes about 20 minutes. Your comfort is just as much of a priority to us at Simply.Aesthetics as satisfaction with your results, so we’ll apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area about 20 minutes before your Ultra™ treatment. We can treat your full face in just 6-8 minutes thanks to Ultra™’s cutting-edge technology, but you may be in our office for an hour or so for a face and neck treatment.

If you’re worried about whether LaseMD Ultra™ hurts, rest assured. You might experience mild discomfort during the treatment, depending on your pain tolerance and which settings are needed to treat your concerns. The treatment is virtually painless for most patients, especially with our careful use of numbing medication before starting treatment.

If you’re sensitive to pain and a higher setting is required to treat your needs, we’ll take extra precautions when it comes to pain management so you can achieve your goals as comfortably as possible.

How Long is Recovery?

You may notice some mild redness and feel a slight sensation similar to sunburn immediately after your treatment, but you can safely return to your usual activities. This typically only lasts an hour or so, but it may take any initial side effects 5-7 days to heal completely.

The longevity of your downtime can vary depending on the treatment type you receive. You’ll have minimal downtime if you’re targeting melasma or just want a subtle glow. If you’re looking to address sun damage or wrinkles, on the other hand, you may have mild swelling and a pink tint at first, but this should only last a few hours. After that, your skin may feel slightly rough and have small brown dots that look similar to coffee grounds for up to a week before they shed off.

The Ultra™ laser doesn’t damage the skin’s surface, so there’s a low risk of infection or irritation afterward. We suggest using the serums we prescribe for you on the day of your treatment, but you can resume your regular makeup and skincare routine the next day. No need to worry about bleeding, blistering, or scabbing.

How Many Treatments do I need to see Results?

The number of sessions you’ll need depends on what you’re aiming for. Some people see results after just one session, while others may need a few treatments to get the required result.

For the best results with Ultra™, we typically recommend 3-4 treatments. Most patients are so thrilled with their results that they choose to have follow-up sessions every 6-12 months to maintain them. You’ll start noticing improvements after your first treatment, and your skin will continue to improve as you complete your personalized treatment plan.
